Essay # 1
The Articles of Confederation failed as our "first constitution because it was weak in a few ways. With this way of government we didn't have the necassary things or rules and regulations needed to run a good, strong, indepent, and wealthy country. The taxes was a big issue with the Articles, because we couldn't control them.
The founding fathers wanted to build on their Articles of Confederation, they wanted to make that their cement floor where they would build up on it to make a great home, (the country). So at the Constitutional Convention of 1787 they discussed some issues that would help make the country run a little bit smoother. They overcame some of the big issues and that's why we are the way we are now, because of that wonderful little meeting between the fathers of the constitutional convention.
Now, the Bill of Rights was added so that the people of the United States could have their equal rights. It gave us the right to bear arms, which is great for there are many people in the world today that love to hunt. Also that gave the little damsdels that were always in distress a little bit of safe feelings. Today there is freedom of religion, speech, all kinds of things that we can do today is because of the Bill Of Rights, that's why they were added.
Essay # 2
It is obvious that the Presidency of George Washington played a significent role in the government of the United States. He was the first, the first true leader of our country. Washington was not of any political party. The major parties in the day were Federalists and Republicans.
The Federalist party was led by Alexander Hamilton. Even when John Adams was president Hamilton was still the big leader of the Federalists. Hamilton wanted to go to out and conquer everything around him. He wanted a BIG country with a lot of power.
The Republican party was lead by Thomas Jefferson, the third president of the United States. Jefferson went against all of Alexander Hamiltons ways and things that he wanted to do. Pretty much what ever the Federalists wanted to do the Republicans wanted to do the opposite.
Essay # 3
The Executive Branch of Government is the branch in which the President of the United States belongs. They have all of the tax decisions and everything else that involves money. They have the laws and all of that mombo jumbo. The president is chosen by electoral vote and serves a four year term but can be voted back in for a second year term so in reality as president you can serve for eight years if re-elected.
The Legislative Branch of Government is the branch that has in it, the congress. The congress is two groups of people, the Senate and the House of Representatives. The members of both of these groups are chosen by electoral vote. Senators serve for six years per term. The House Members are chosen also by electoral vote and they serve a two year term.
